This is me…Mel…I am a stay-at-home wife and mom…have been for most of my married life, which would also be most of my adult life. I am also a farmer’s daughter!
Born in NorthWest Iowa into a line of farmers on all sides. It’s definitely in the blood and something I am so very proud of!
Married at 20 to my high school sweetheart, Old Boy and I have been together since the summer of 1989 when he was brought home by Big Brother to be our hired hand.
We’ve lived in both south central Nebraska (where our daughter was born) and northern South Dakota (where our son was born) and came home both times. This hill girl always felt that pull for home and thankfully Old Boy’s job made it possible to be able to move home for good!
Old Boy and I have been married over 26 years, have a 24 year old and a 17 year old, three Chihuahuas and an Australian Shepherd, a good mousing cat (always handy living in the country), five horses and a small smattering of cattle. We are a noisy bunch, but we have fun with life! Seldom do we let the grass grow under our feet.
Life is an adventure, or maybe more like a roller coaster ride. We’ve had our ups and downs and keep picking ourselves up by the bootstraps and get back to it. We only have this one life to live…dance with it!
