Rain, Rain, Go Away….Feels like the 50th day of rain out of the past 60.
Mother Nature needs to take a Happy Pill.
Time to shake the booty and get things going around here. Really enjoying the quiet of the day after five days of no school for the boy. Not wanting to get to work on the place all that badly.
Wanting and needing to get going on laundry again, can’t keep putting it off, but we are supposed to get rain today, tomorrow and Thursday and I am a hanging shirts, tshirts and sweatshirts on the line kind of person. Not wanting to drag the racks out to hang things to dry in the house. Looking like that’s what is going to have to happen though.
Yesterday the boy and I worked on his and his sister’s rooms, we are getting him moved over to her room for the time being so I can paint his room and put up a new bed. My part is done, I absolutely refuse to work on his room, can’t even walk in there and find the carpet. He’s a big boy, he made the mess, he’s going to have to be the one to get the room to where we can take the bed down and out so I can paint. He’s 14, so you can imagine just how fast that’s going to happen.
Winding down for the day…enjoying the peace of the night and feeling satisfied from accomplishing so much this afternoon. The house now looks like only one tornado has blown through instead of three. Progress!
Getting nervous about the Bubba’s bedroom situation. He didn’t get much accomplished this afternoon and I absolutely refuse to set foot in that room, it’s absolutely uncalled for to have a room so disgusting! The new bed is supposed to come via FedEx tomorrow and I hate the fact that it’s going to have to sit and be in the way until he gets that room cleaned up to where we can haul out the furniture and paint. UGH!
The girl and her boyfriend made it back out to western Nebraska yesterday afternoon. Another safe trip! Was so nice to have them home for Easter.
Kirk’s sister had her surgery today. From what we were told it went well but she wound up having to spend the night, the anesthesia didn’t agree with her. Kirk’s mom is home from Florida, so she’s able to stay with the kids, a relief for Shelly. Hopefully all will go well with the dialysis, not sure when she’s supposed to start it, once she starts that or is on it for so long, she’ll be able to be put on the transplant list. I’ve been told all the information but it went in one ear and out the other. Several family members have been tested to see if they can be a donor, Kirk can’t since he has a kidney stone issue. Hopefully someone will be a match and she’ll be able to start the healing process soon.
Guess it’s beginning to get late, should pry start thinking about winding down for the night.
And once again, we have rain! Starting to think we have just about enough. Had an inch earlier this week and we were just getting dry enough again to get out and work in the gardens.
We’ve had horrendous humidity this week, where it hits you in the face as soon as you open the front door. We went to the rodeo at the fair the next county south from us tonight, it didn’t take long before my clothes felt like I’d taken them out of the dryer damp and put them on. I stayed long enough to watch Kirk and Dave make their run and I headed home. They both caught and even with penalties for breaking the barrier and catching only one hoof, they were in third place when we left.
The kids have been fired from taking pictures and video. We have some great pictures of video of the arena fence and you can just see that something is going on on the other side of the fence. UGH! Guess I didn’t teach them how to do the picture/video thing worth a crap. With the guys luck this summer, it’s too bad we didn’t get some good pictures.
(Leo, Kayla and Kaet)
It was nice spending time with the kids tonight. Always nice when the kids choose to spend time with the old folks! Kaet’s ex rode bull for the first time tonight, I didn’t stick around to watch him but thankfully he didn’t get hurt, he only lasted about three seconds, but with his luck, I’m just tickled he didn’t get injured.
The boys called a little while ago to say they were heading home, they headed to rodeo number two as soon as they were done with their first run tonight. They were rained out, rescheduled for 8:00 tomorrow morning. Fun times!
Now it’s time to get the place in order this weekend, get things ready for the kids and my vacation we are taking my mother on. Have the daycare lined up for two of the three dogs, he has to deal with the little one on his own while we are gone, she’s too young to go to daycare. Laundry is actually almost done, now it’s to get the kids to get their rooms cleaned and get the fine tuning done.
Always something going on around here. Wouldn’t want it any other way.
…and we have rain! Sitting in my Mama Hovel in the basement, watching a little O’Reilly, have a window open and enjoying the beautiful sound of the pouring rain! Peaceful bliss!
Not much along the lines of accomplishment today, or of much interest, so I’m just going to post some pictures from the museum the boy and I visited yesterday.
Best wishes! Peace!
